Catherine Sulzmann
Biography
I have a science background with a BSc in Forensic Science and a MSc in Forensic Anthropology. I obtained my PG certificate in Medical art with the Medical Artists’ Education Trust (MAET) and am now a tutor with the MAET. I teach the digital side of the course, focusing on digital painting, sculpting and some animation and I also teach physical 3D sculpture in wax and the musculoskeletal anatomy to the students.
My freelance career has mostly focused on orthopedic surgery and I have worked for many years with Professor Lennard Funk, and upper limb surgeon, creating artworks for his website Shoulderdoc and for his publications and presentations. I have also worked with cardiologist, physiotherapists, graphic design companies, pharmaceutical companies and book publishers to produce a range of artworks for their specific needs. Currently I am working at Limbs & Thing Ltd, making surgical and clinical training models and I freelance from my studio in Bristol. Please visit my website for more images of my artwork and to make enquirers for commissions.
