Francesca Corra graduated with a First Class diploma in Fine Art from The Art Academy, London and has recently completed a Postgraduate course in Medical Art with the Medical Artists’ Education Trust, graduating with a Distinction.
She is currently the artist in residence at the Centre for Osteoarthritis Pathogenesis, University of Oxford, where she has spent the past 9 months exploring arthritis from the “molecular-to-cellular-to-tissue-to-anatomy-to-patient” perspective creating illustrations, drawings and animations focused on the disease.
Francesca has won the Barber’s Company Award granted by The Worshipful Company of Barbers in 2013 for her research work on the preservation of medical specimens and was given The Ronald Raven Award the following year for her research into the history of anatomical preparations and techniques in medical museums across Europe. Francesca was also the recipient for The Whitaker Award of excellence from the Medical Artist’s Education Trust both in 2015 and 2016 awarded for her high standard of artwork.
Francesca works in traditional and digital mediums (2D and 3D) and is currently available for freelance work.
