Ruth Eaves

I have been working at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust as the medical artist since 1995 and have developed working relationships with clinicians from all around the Northwest region. I became the Medical Illustration Manager at Bolton in 2006 and I’m very proud to lead the department and still be able to undertake medical art commissions for the Trust.

I am in the final stages of my PhD, my thesis is about developing new knowledge of Cauda Equina Syndrome. This involved the development of patient cards which give clear symptoms of Cauda Equina Syndrome to safety net patients. These have been translated into 34 different languages across the world. I have also produced an anatomically correct, detailed illustration of the Cauda Equina which has won numerous awards.

I have recently been working on illustrations for radiology publications and I am available for commissions.
